‘Tis the Season for All Sorts of Holiday Fun

My babies at our Thanksgiving dinner!

So much holiday fun it’s easy to get distracted and not get much work done. I know I’ve been busy with Holiday events and family. Thanksgiving was great! My son being a working man now it is difficult to get him home for the holidays so I cooked our turkey meal the week before and we had a quiet dinner with just us. I of course love this special time with my kiddos without all the outside family and friends, but I also love having the outside family and friends meals as well. So we went to my brother’s house on Thanksgiving and had the family and friends thing at his house. Both days were especially nice. I love spending time my friends and family, especially since everyone seems to be so busy these days that you don’t get to see them as much you used to.

Business tends to slow down during the holiday’s which is kind of double edged sword. First I love being busy with my work, but I also love spending time with my family. I make a conscious decision every year to take some time off during the holidays. I shut down for Thanksgiving weekend and this weekend I turned off all my devices. I didn’t allow myself to check email, text messages, nothing, until Sunday afternoon when it was time to start preparing for the week ahead.

While it was worth it to turn everything off I was tempted to run to my PC a few times, especially, in the middle of the night when I’m often lying there thinking of things to come/to do.

Speaking of taking time off, I’ll be shutting down the week of Christmas so the Office will be closed Monday, December 22nd and will re-open on Monday, December 29th.

We will only be open half day on Wednesday, December 31st and closed for New Year’s Thursday, January 1st and Friday, January 2nd.

I’m looking forward to Christmas and I hope that you are to. Not because of all the Christmas shopping and presents, but because for me it’s a time of celebration and remembrance and a time to spend with family. Without my Lord and savior’s birth there would be nothing to celebrate. I’m so thankful for my salvation and all the many blessings He has brought into my life and for always being there with me, especially when no-one else was.

And of course we have the New Year just around the corner as well and so much to look forward to. I have many plans on the horizon, and I’m looking forward to sharing those with you all as we go.

What plans do you have for yourself and/ or for your business for the new year? I’d love to know. Please share with me below.
