Rebellion Against Being Ever Connected and The Fight for Work Life Balance

According to this article, 50 Big Ideas, Predictions and Trends for Small Business in 2015, on Business News Daily there is an uprising of sorts beginning to take place against being ever connected to our devices. The trend to stay connected and be able to work from anywhere anytime is taking its toll on our lives. It intrudes into our living rooms, our dining tables, our gatherings with friends and family, and in my opinion … it’s really getting out of control.

When I sit down to dinner with someone I’d really like to be engaged with them, and not them engaged with their cell phone. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, email … IT CAN WAIT … take a few minutes to breath, laugh, enjoy some conversation with a friend or loved one, and by all means get some real food in you. There is nothing on that dang device that cannot wait for 30 minutes or even 2 hours. It will keep. Don’t forget to take care of yourself and your friends and family miss you.
