Will the physical office be left by the wayside for SMB’s and entrepreneurs all together?

It’s obvious the office landscape has already changed for many SMB’s and entrepreneurs. They are no longer working from a brick-n-mortar office. These days they are working from their couch, table, the local coffee shop, daughter’s ballet class or son’s football practice and they are doing this quite effectively.

While I do have a corner office in my home, there are days when I go to the library or the local coffee shop to change my environment. Since I work from home, I do not take meetings here, but rather the local coffee shop or a restaurant; really anywhere with WiFi or via Skype. More and more businesses are offering free WiFi, trying to attract us to their establishments. They want us to come and work there and hopefully (most likely), we’ll buy a cup of coffee or lunch.

Tech companies have come up with fantastic ways of making this work for us. With the cloud growing in popularity as well, it really makes the whole idea possible.

This has definitely become a more common place. Do you work from home, a coffee shop, etc. or do you work in a brick-n-mortar office? I would love to hear from you and how it works for you.

I love having this freedom of location. Changing environments can be very refreshing and stimulating for the mind.
