Oprah Winfrey is a women celebrated by millions of women around the world. She had a rough upbringing following the divorce of her parents with being passed back and forth over the years from her grandmother’s house to her father’s house to her mother’s house and then back to her father’s. She was also the victim of sexual abuse by other men that were thought to be friends of the family. Oprah with her above-average intelligence and her tenacity rose above the hardships of her life and found another way of being.
I’m writing this short piece on Oprah because I believe her story to be inspirational to millions and will continue to be inspirational to millions of women for many years to come. I will admit I do not watch her show that often, but I do not watch TV that often. I do admire her for her courage and her ability to persevere despite the hardships of her life.
In writing this I am just hoping that all you women out there will be reminded that life is short and it is what we make it. Trials will come our way, but we have the ability to drive right through them and overcome them. So to every amazing woman who is struggling along look at Oprah’s amazing story and take something from it to inspire you to continue to persevere no matter what life brings about.
