Hello and welcome back to Make more, do more weekly tip #32. This week we are covering the eighth principle of time management…
Do the Right Thing Right! This week we are talking about doing the right thing right. Too many times we rush through and complete a task without considering whether there was a better way of doing it. Because of this, we fail to recognize that that time could have been better utilized. *Peter Drucker, well-known management expert, said that “doing the right thing right is more important than doing things right”.
According to *Drucker, doing the right thing is effectiveness while doing things right is efficiency. You need to first focus on identifying what is the right thing to do. Determine those tasks you consider the right thing you should be doing. Next, find the most efficient way of doing the tasks. You may find that a task could be handled more effectively and efficiently by delegating it to another person. Or that it could be completed in another manner. Take the time this week and review your time and tasks with an eye on doing the right thing right.
